Kitara FC Targets 17,000 Fans for CAF Confederation Cup Return Leg

Hoima City: Kitara FC is targeting a crowd of 17,000 fans for the return leg of their CAF Confederation Cup tie against Mogadishu City Council of Somalia, with the club’s president, Deo Kasozi, urging fans to turn up in large numbers and support the team.

Kitara FC launched tickets for the highly anticipated return leg during a press conference held at the Grand Imperial Hotel in Kampala on Tuesday.

The match will be played at Hoima City Stadium on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 4:00 PM.

Kitara secured a crucial 2-1 victory over Mogadishu City Council in the first leg, a result that gave the Ugandan side an important advantage ahead of the return fixture.

The first leg also marked a historic moment for Kitara, as it was the club’s first time hosting a competitive continental match in Uganda. The game attracted approximately 15,000 spectators, a turnout that the club believes demonstrates the growing appetite for football in Hoima and beyond.

Kasozi expressed appreciation to the club’s supporters and stakeholders for their contribution to the team's continental campaign. He called for even greater support in the return leg as Kitara seeks to advance to the second preliminary stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.

“We need more sports and, most importantly, more fans for our home game,” Kasozi said while launching the tickets.

The club has set the regular ticket price at UGX 20,000, while VIP tickets will cost UGX 50,000. Early-bird tickets will be available from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM at UGX 15,000.

Kitara is also counting on support from fans beyond Hoima. The club says supporters from Kyagwe Ssaza have already demonstrated their commitment, with fans travelling to support the team and buying all the jerseys that had been made available.

The club is also expecting supporters from Buwekula Ssaza to travel and rally behind Kitara in the decisive return leg.

As hundreds of fans left Hoima City Stadium following the first-leg victory, there was a renewed sense of optimism that the supporters would return in even greater numbers for the return fixture.

With a place in the next round at stake, Kitara FC is calling on its supporters to fill Hoima City Stadium once again and create a memorable continental football atmosphere.
